About the Exchange
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) is the principal stock exchange of Bangladesh, founded in 1954 and headquartered in Motijheel, Dhaka. It is the country's oldest and largest bourse by market capitalisation, listing several hundred companies across banking, textiles, pharmaceuticals, engineering, telecommunications, and energy.
Trading runs on weekdays through an automated order-matching system. The exchange's benchmark gauge, the DSEX, tracks the broad market, alongside sector indices like the DS30 (blue-chip) and DSES (Shariah-compliant) indices.
